Business Licenses

If you are operating a business in the City of Fernie you need a valid Business License. Business means the carrying on of a commercial or industrial undertaking of any kind or nature or the providing of professional, personal, or other services for the purpose of gain or profit and shall be deemed to include the subsidiary businesses which are an integral part of the principal business.

The primary purpose of a Business License is to ensure that the City's municipal land use regulations, building and fire codes and other community safety requirements are followed by businesses. The Business License program also collects important statistical information about local business activities in order to understand trends that impact City policy decisions.

To obtain a Business License please call the Bylaw Enforcement Officer at 250.423.6817
